Tube Bird Feeders

Tube bird feeders are very popular for many reasons.  They come in many variations of styles and finishes and can easily be filled to dispense a variety of seeds.  Tube bird feeders are made of weather resistant materials for extended outdoor use in any climate.  They usually have a transparent tube as the main body. 

You can hang or mount them on a pole.  A tube bird feeder is a great way to supply that food to your birds. 

Tube Bird Feeders have more than one feeding station with perches that allow for multiple dining.  The best tube bird feeders are made with easy-opening tops and bottoms, without needing special tools.  Make sure that the holes are not on top of one another, they should be staggered around the tube.  Most tube bird feeders are made of an 18” long clear, plastic tube with holes arranged in a staggered way to allow 3-6 birds to eat comfortably.

Tube feeders are for small birds that often get pushed away from other types of feeders by bigger birds.  They spill a lot less seed than other types of feeders because they dispense less. 

This kind of bird feeders keeps the seed well protected and dry, yet they are quite easy to fill and clean.  You must hang them from somewhere away from squirrels or their jumping off points. 

Tube feeders are great for small birds like finches and chickadees, but ground-feeding birds will prefer a platform feeder or hopper feeder. 

Tube feeders are usually filled with thistle, nyjer or sunflower seeds or mixed bird seed.
